Sri Konidela Nagendra Rao serves as an Hon'ble Member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council and as Chairman of the Executive Committee, AP GREEN — the state's programme for greening, afforestation and ecological restoration.

AP Green Executive Committee Chairman and Hon'ble MLC Sri Konidela Naga Babu visited the Gucchi Elephant Conservation Centre in Parvathipuram Manyam district on Sunday, reviewing development works at the centre, the tracking of wild elephant movement in the region and the care of the two kumki elephants stationed there. Kumkis are trained elephants used to guide wild herds away from farmland and back into forest, and they are central to how Andhra Pradesh handles human–elephant conflict in its northern border districts.
Visited the Gucchi Elephant Conservation Centre in Parvathipuram Manyam district and reviewed the ongoing development works at the centre.

AP Green Executive Committee Chairperson, Hon'ble MLC Sri Konidela Naga Babu, visited the Community Based Sea Turtle Conservation Programme camp in Bapatla district — the Forest Department and TREE Foundation's community-based Olive Ridley sea turtle conservation effort, run under ITC Mission Sunehra Kal. The programme trains coastal villagers as a Sea Turtle Protection Force to guard nesting beaches through the Olive Ridley season.
Reviewed the full season's work as documented by the field team — beach patrolling, nest identification, collection and measurement of eggs, relocation into protected hatcheries, and the release of hatchlings back to the sea.
Examined a life-size nesting display showing how an Olive Ridley turtle lays her clutch in the sand and how the hatchlings emerge, used at the camp to teach visiting students and coastal families.
Went through the mangrove ecosystem exhibits covering the birds, fishes, crustaceans and gastropods that the coastal mangroves support, and reviewed satellite mapping of the mangrove and plantation cover along the range.
Met NCC cadets, scouts and school students taking part in the camp, inspected saplings raised in the Bapatla nurseries, and joined the students in planting on the coastal site.

AP Green Executive Committee Chairman Sri Konidela Naga Babu visited the Godavari Mahapushkara Nagaravanam at Rajamahendravaram and planted Rudraksha and rare Andaman Padak saplings at the urban forest.
The visit followed his meeting with the Kadiyam nursery farmers on the same day, where a target of about 10 crore plants for 2026–27 was set. Urban forests of this kind are part of the wider push to turn roads, government offices, schools, colleges and open spaces into green zones under Green Andhra Pradesh 2047.

The planting pit was marked out with a floral rangoli, and the Chairman settled the young trees into the soil and watered them himself, joined by forest officers, public representatives and local residents.

After taking charge as an MLC, I met sugarcane farmers from Chodavaram during my North Andhra tour. They submitted a representation seeking government support and payment of their pending dues from the Chodavaram Cooperative Sugar Factory.
I raised the issue as my first question in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council and discussed it several times with the concerned ministers.
Responding to the farmers’ concerns, the State Cabinet has approved the release of ₹28 crore towards pending dues to farmers who supplied sugarcane to the Chodavaram Cooperative Sugar Factory.

The Great Green Wall of Andhra Pradesh is a coastal shelterbelt programme that raises a continuous line of palmyra and salt-tolerant plantations along the shoreline to shield villages and farmland from cyclonic winds, sand drift and saline ingress. As AP Green Chairperson, Naga Babu inspected the belt at Suryalanka in September 2026.
It is a community based Olive Ridley sea turtle conservation programme run by the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department and the TREE Foundation under ITC Mission Sunehra Kal. Coastal villagers are trained as a Sea Turtle Protection Force to patrol nesting beaches, relocate eggs into protected hatcheries and release hatchlings to the sea. Naga Babu visited the camp in September 2026.
