95 show-cause notices: Notices were issued to 95 industries in the Pharma City over alleged discharge of untreated waste into stormwater drains.

Stronger monitoring: APPCB directed industries to install required scrubbers, online monitoring systems and CCTV cameras with date/time recording.
CCTV compliance: CCTV footage related to treated waste disposal must be preserved for at least six months.
Strict compliance: Industries must strictly follow Consent to Operate (CTO) and hazardous-waste management conditions.
7-day deadline: Industries have been given seven days to submit satisfactory explanations to the show-cause notices.
Strict action: If illegal discharge of wastewater, hazardous waste or by-products is confirmed, APPCB will initiate action under applicable environmental regulations.

Problem
Drainage Polluting the Talavalsa Ponds
Drainage from nearby educational institutions is polluting the Talavalsa ponds, causing serious hardship to residents.
Locals report foul odour, allergies among children and respiratory issues among adults.
Visited the affected area and reviewed the situation with Panchayat, Pollution Control Board, Irrigation & VMRDA officials.
Directed officials to issue notices to the institutions responsible and take strict action.

Authorities Act on Tallavalasa Lake
Following a complaint by Jana Sena leaders, authorities responded immediately to the pollution issue at Tallavalasa Lake.
AP Pollution Control Board Member Dr. Sandeep JSP personally inspected the affected area and directed officials to take immediate action.
Septic tanker operations to remove wastewater have been intensified, along with pumping and diversion of contaminated water.
Officials were instructed to issue notices to educational institutions identified as contributing to the pollution.
Local Jana Sena leaders and activists participated in the removal of waste from the lake.
Jana Sena will continue its efforts until a permanent solution is provided to the people of Peddipalem and Tallavalasa.
